Overview
Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) is China's standardized Mandarin proficiency test. HSK 1β6 tests reading, listening, and writing. HSK 4 (B2 equivalent) is commonly required for Chinese university admission. The new HSK 3.0 (2021+) has 9 levels but HSK 4/5/6 remain widely recognized.

General Strategies
- 1.Master the official HSK vocabulary lists β HSK 4 requires ~1,200 words total (cumulative).
- 2.Use Anki with the HSK deck β spaced repetition is the most efficient way to learn characters.
- 3.Listen to Chinese daily: HSK-level podcasts (ChinesePod, HSK Online), dramas with subtitles.
- 4.Writing practice: type characters, not just recognize them β typing on a phone builds recall.
- 5.Grammar points: study ζ, θ’«, θ½ηΆ...δ½ζ―, εͺζ...ζ... β they're tested directly.
