What's on the TOPIK

TOPIK is divided into two tiers. TOPIK I (Levels 1–2) tests Reading and Listening only. TOPIK II (Levels 3–6) adds a Writing section with both short and long tasks.

TOPIK I (Levels 1–2)
Listening (듣기) — 30 min

40 questions. Short dialogues and announcements. Tests basic conversational comprehension.

Reading (읽기) — 60 min

40 questions. Short texts, notices, and simple articles. Tests basic reading comprehension.

TOPIK II (Levels 3–6)
Listening (듣기) — 60 min

50 questions. Complex conversations, news broadcasts, and academic lectures.

Writing (쓰기) — 50 min

4 tasks: 2 short sentence completion + 1 functional writing (150–300 words) + 1 essay (600–700 words).

Reading (읽기) — 70 min

50 questions. Long complex texts, academic articles, and data interpretation.
